JOB PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst’s role is responsible for monitoring and partnering with the business on financial and non-financial performance of the business unit under his or her responsibility. Reporting to the EMEA Commercial Finance Manager, this position will be supporting the financial planning and analysis for the Investment market (GIM) business within the EMEA region of Donnelley Financial Solutions (DFS).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure month-end information is recorded accurately and deadlines met for GIM
  • Preparation of monthly management information pack
  • Preparation of product profit and loss accounts and product profitability reports
  • Prepare the monthly sales reconciliations, job costings, expense reporting and margin analysis
  • Provide support for the monthly forecasting processes and annual budgeting processes for GIM
  • Support of business case and RFP’s (Request for proposal) for the business unit
  • Verification and analysis of revenue streams (revenue recognition), work in progress (WIP) and working capital requirements for the business unit
  • Reconcile and report relevant balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare year-end working papers for auditors
  • Participate in monthly / regular business meetings with sales and operations and support the strategic initiatives of the business
  • Financial modelling and business case tracking
  • Project accounting and other ad-hoc reporting as and when required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Part Qualified/qualified by experience accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • preferably in the software or services environment
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and PC proficiency required with extensive experience in Excel and the ability to work in Word and PowerPoint. SAP experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet tight reporting deadlines while remaining calm and focused.  Flexibility in working hours including the occasional need to work late and/ or weekend work.
  • Ability to clearly communicate results of analysis and provide recommendations to business leaders at all levels
