Summary:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing EHS programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free culture by providing the following duties in a matrixed organization. You will also help implement the company’s global environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy. This position reports to the VP, of EHS and Sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement EHS policies and procedures that comply with internal and regulatory requirements as well as industry best practices.
- Apply knowledge of EHS practices to oversee a variety of activities, including but not limited to sustainability, risk assessments, incident investigations, business continuity planning, ergonomics, emergency response, environmental protection, and occupational safety.
- Manage EHS inspections with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Keep abreast of changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization, including the pandemic response.
- Drive EHS performance to support Key Performance Indicators and compile metrics using various software tools and platforms.
- Assess trends and risks and make recommendations to improve EHS and sustainability performance.
- Manage Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certification process.
- Develop, conduct and/or coordinate EHS training for manufacturing employees and new hires.
- Oversee workers' compensation claims management in collaboration with HR. This will include vendor management and a quarterly claims review process.
- Work with HR to ensure all required OSHA logs are completed, posted, and retained
- Assist with corporate and facility Health and Wellness initiatives.
- Maintain high-quality relationships with internal/external stakeholders and collaborate with HR, Engineering & Maintenance, and Operations to achieve objectives while providing excellent customer service.
- Provide leadership in planning, organizing, and managing work operations, safety committees, quarterly EHS roundtables, and management reviews with senior leadership.
- Hire and supervise EHS Consultants, when required, to achieve compliance with specific programs.
- Maintain EHS files and records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience with expertise in operations or manufacturing.
- Understand and apply local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Solid interpersonal and communications skills, including presentation, verbal, and writing skills.
- Flexible with the ability to accept, create and manage change.
- Must have proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in using Microsoft business applications and possess strong PC skills
Preferred Skills:
- Resilient self-starter who can act independently and learn quickly.
- Experienced in leading teams and projects, handling multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines within standards.
- Capable of supporting a hybrid workplace where employees work remotely and also onsite.
- CSP certification
Location:
3 days a week required onsite at our 391 Steel Way, Lancaster, PA 17601 location. Relocation assistance provided for out of state candidates.
