Summary:

Senior Production Planners are central planning specialists responsible for manufacturing and production planning across internal facilities and external vendor networks. As a Senior Production Planner, you’ll translate customer requirements into detailed manufacturing plans, coordinate print production, materials, and capacity, and manage complex projects from estimate through final delivery. This role partners closely with Sales, Professional Services, manufacturing sites, and vendors to ensure quality, efficiency, and on‑time execution in a fast‑paced print and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Independently manage central planning and production planning activities with minimal supervision across internal manufacturing sites and external print vendors.
• Perform job engineering and develop manufacturing and print production plans that meet customer specifications, quality standards, and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate production schedules, materials, and capacity across internal facilities and approved external vendor networks.
• Monitor production progress and collaborate with manufacturing, bindery, mailing, and shipping teams to ensure on‑time, high‑quality output.
• Serve as a primary liaison between customers, Sales, Professional Services, and manufacturing throughout the production lifecycle.
• Communicate production status, changes, requirements, and issue resolution to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Manage large, complex print and manufacturing projects involving multiple workstreams, vendors, and delivery timelines.
• Lead sourcing and procurement of paper, materials, and production components required for assigned jobs.
• Support Sales and Professional Services during RFPs, estimates, and solution development by providing manufacturing and production planning expertise.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed manufacturing, kitting, shipping, and postal instructions.
• Review proofs, coordinate artwork and material approvals, and oversee component production across multiple facilities.
• Manage internal in‑line mail jobs, including mail file submission, permit funding, documentation, and postal compliance.
• Identify and recommend workflow, process, or production improvements to improve efficiency, quality, and cost.
• Keep production running smoothly with team tasks and additional responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency.

• 3 years of experience in a print production or distribution center.

• 2 years of experience with coordinating work, team leadership or central planning.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience with traditional print production processes.

• 2 years of experience communicating with external teams, vendors and clients.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products in a professional or academic environment

• Comfort with basic mathematics such as decimals, metric units, and dimensions.
