Summary:

DFIN is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join the Venue Engineering team at DFIN. Venue from Donnelley Financial Solutions is a top-tier virtual data room provider trusted by countless businesses serving global mission-critical financial transaction markets. Our product is a modern SaaS platform built on Microsoft Azure designed with scalable, resilient, cloud-native architecture which sets the bar for a responsive, intuitive, and innovative solution.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you are expected to combine strong software development skills with proficiency in AI-enabled engineering practices, distributed systems expertise, and operational ownership. This role requires strong technical expertise, modern cloud development experience, collaboration across product, engineering, QA, SRE, and support organizations, and continuous learning.

Successful candidates demonstrate sound engineering judgment, take ownership of outcomes, and raise the technical capabilities of those around them.

Responsibilities:

· Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade software solutions.

· Lead design discussions and contribute to architectural decision-making.

· Develop cloud-native services, modern APIs, user interfaces, integrations, and background processing systems utilizing messaging, queues, and service-based communication patterns.

· Create reusable frameworks, shared components, and engineering accelerators.

· Design and implement solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, concurrency, and maintainability.

· Ensure design precedes implementation through technical specifications, data flow reviews, dependency analysis, and feature design reviews.

Enterprise-Grade Software Delivery Excellence

· Deliver software with enterprise-grade quality and drive it through whole SDLC.

· Ensure code is secure, maintainable, observable, and supportable.

· Create technical designs and implementation plans.

· Identify technical risks early and propose mitigation strategies.

· Create and maintain automated unit tests and partner closely with SDETs to ensure comprehensive quality coverage throughout development.

· Reduce technical debt through continuous improvement initiatives.

AI-Enabled Engineering Responsibilities

· Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and approved AI solutions.

· Identify opportunities to improve engineering velocity and software quality through AI-enabled workflows and drive adoption of effective AI engineering practices.

· Apply AI across the software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture exploration, implementation, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and operational support.

· Use AI responsibly utilizing only approved AI tools as an accelerator, not a replacement for engineering judgement. Validate and review AI-generated output to ensure correctness, security, maintainability, and compliance.

· Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and bring practical innovation to engineering teams.

Ownership & Operational Excellence

· Senior Engineers are expected to own the systems they build.

· Support production systems, participating in incident response activities, and conducting root cause analysis.

· Design monitoring, telemetry, and observability solutions.

· Drive reliability, resiliency, performance, and scalability improvements.

· Partner with support, operations, and product teams to reduce operational risk.
