What a Sales Engineer does

An expert Sales Engineer combines deep technical knowledge with fantastic sales skills. You’ll use your technical knowledge and understanding to help us grow eBrevia sales, and to respond to prospect and customer queries. Your customers and prospects will usually be attorneys, legal service provider staff, paralegals, and their technical support staff.

The goal is to assure the high quality of the sales process, to assist Sales and Project Managers, and to also ensure that RFPs and customer pre-sales information are delivered accurately, in a consistent and timely manner.

•    Provide product, service, cloud and on-prem technical, capability, reliability and security information by answering questions and requests
•    Conduct in-depth product demonstrations of products/services
•    Present the product and all features to customers at events such as conferences and seminars
•    Establish new relationships with customers, and maintain existing customer relationships
•    Advise customers on how best to use the products or services provided to ensure customer success
•    Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance and product education
•    Offer post-sales support services and customer issue troubleshooting
•    Collect and interpret customer requirements and communicate to the Product Owner
•    Liaise with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
•    Provide advanced training and support for the Sales and Project Management team
•    Track Sales metrics and provide detailed reports and analytics.
•    Stay up-to-date with legal technology trends


•    At least 2 years hands-on experience as a Sales Engineer (or similar role in Sales support)
•    Good general knowledge of concepts for Web applications, SaaS, and cloud 
•    Widely experienced in the terms of art in practice for sales support
•    A problem-solver with a can-do attitude and a bias toward action
•    Working knowledge of competitive analysis and general marketing concepts, including some exposure to email marketing and content marketing
•    Bachelor’s in business with technology related studies, or in technology with business related studies, or equivalent skills and experience
•    First-class MS Office or Google docs skills
•    Speak and write exceptionally
•    Peerless interpersonal skills
•    Great team spirit

Desired Skills

•    Deep AWS knowledge
•    Experience in legal-tech, legal workflow, and legal concepts
•    Knowledge of AI or prior experience with a commercial AI-based product
