Job Summary

Engage in both strategic and tactical human resources functions for DFIN Secaucus, NJ facility. Support Human Resources Management to ensure effective recruiting, staffing, on-boarding, employee relations, compensation, organizational development, training, and safety. Fosters employee involvement at all levels.


Work is typically performed under minimal daily supervision, receiving guidance from manager/supervisor about the work that needs to be completed. Able to exercise high level of discretion, confidentiality and latitude in completing tasks.


  • Manage the recruiting process for non-exempt positions, including job postings, screening, scheduling interviews, job offers and on-boarding.
  • Establish and maintain an effective and efficient working relationship with plant management to facilitate the interviewing process, thus enabling the hiring of qualified applicants for plant positions.
  • Facilitating the use of temporary employment agencies and oversee the temporary employee requests.
  • Managing recruitment, screening, the job posting system for internal/external candidates in accordance with company and legal guidelines.
  • Ensure thorough onboarding/orientation of new hires.
  • Responsible for pro-active employee relations, communication support, and internal management consultation as they related to the Human Resource function
  • Responsible for guidance to all employees to insure consistent adherence to HR policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Effectively support and foster the company's Open Door Policy
  • Assist in the development and implementation of all Strategic HR management programs (i.e. employee involvement, hiring, promotional practices, wages structures, and proactive employee relations)
  • Assist in managing Worker's Compensation Insurance issues, including making recommendations to facilitate the timely closing of claims.
  • Assists with the safety program including accident investigation and risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in all training activities within the facility (i.e. safety compliance, orientation programs, job knowledge, and leadership performances).
  • Provide prompt and accurate guidance to employees regarding all benefit programs including timely orientation programs.
  • Maintain all personnel records in accordance with EEO, privacy, and related requirements. Prompt and accurate completion of all status changes and in assuring prompt and accurate updated information in the HRIS system.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within a production facility. 
  • Ability to manage a high volume of open positions and screen candidates in a professional, efficient and effective manner.
  • Ability to work closely with Hiring Managers to help select the best candidates for each position and to control candidate expectations.
  • Having a history of establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with hiring mangers and candidates.
  •  Screen resumes and perform phone screens and virtual candidate interviews.
  • Broad knowledge of general employment laws, recruitment, EEO/AAP, FMLA, safety training and policy development.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional, positive demeanor to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to interact with a diverse employee population.
  • Able to apply strong functional computer knowledge in utilizing MS Office Suite, or other technical tools in completing assignments. May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments. Minimum intermediate Excel skills required. SAP a plus.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources is desired.
